Kisumu is the third largest city in Kenya, and is located on the edge of Lake Victoria. Just outside of Kisumu is the Obunga slum where residents live without clean drinking water. The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church of Carrollton, Texas, has been working with the regional water provider to try and find a solution to this problem. Now, with funding from the Caris Foundation, a system will be built to pipe fresh water into a central dispensing outlet in this area.
