Cleft lips and palates are deformities that make life extremely difficult for those living in poverty. In Indonesia, there are several charitable organizations whose work focuses specifically on this problem, but many people suffer from this deformity. While working in Indonesia on other projects, The Caris Foundation found some children that were overlooked, so they contracted a local plastic surgeon in Medan to perform ten of these surgeries.
