Congenital heart disease is a problem in newborns that may result in structural defects, arrhythmia, or problems with the heart muscle. If left untreated, children with this disease are severely limited, and many may die at a young age. Many Chinese cannot afford the treatment, so the Caris Foundation has funded open-heart surgeries for children in Changchun, China.
